The sixth annual China National Floorball Championship was held at the American International School in Guangzhou’s Science Park Campus on Saturday May 17th. Nine teams and approximately 120 players from Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou came to fight for the championship.

The Hong Kong Fashion Boys defeated the Shanghai Sharks 5-4 in the thrilling final. Guangzhou’s two teams, the Guangzhou Taipans and the Guangzhou Rams, finished in fifth and seventh place respectively. The Guangzhou teams were pleased to have organized the tournament and the massive after party at the Brew in New Pearl River City, even if they weren’t able to bring home the championship trophy on their home turf. Next year, Guangzhou will have another shot at the championship when the tournament moves to Beijing. Guangzhou teams which mainly consist of Finnish, Canadian and Swedish players have regular trainings in every Thursday evening.
