FCGD visited Seismo company and went go-karting in Dongguan

We are thrilled to share the highlights of our recent visit to Dongguan, a dynamic city known for its thriving industrial landscape and strategic location in China’s Guangdong Province. Dongguan, often referred to as the “World’s Factory,” is a hub of manufacturing excellence and innovation, making it an ideal destination for exploring new business opportunities.

Our visit was graciously hosted by a Finnish-owned green package design company, where we had the pleasure of meeting the founder, Ismo Seeve. Ismo and his collague Jyri Lintunen gave an inspiring presentation about the company’s commitment to sustainable packaging solutions and its journey in the Chinese market. His insights underscored the importance of environmentally friendly practices in today’s business environment and highlighted the company’s innovative approaches to green packaging.

Following Ismo’s presentation, we were privileged to hear from Hudson He, a consultant from Amicorp, who provided a comprehensive overview of new business opportunities and the latest developments in Chinese taxation. Hudson’s expertise was invaluable, offering practical advice on navigating the complexities of the Chinese market and optimizing tax strategies for foreign businesses.

The day concluded with an exhilarating karting race, adding a touch of excitement and camaraderie to our visit. We congratulate Mikko Tarvainen for clinching the first place, Jyri Lintunen for securing second place, and Ville Majanen, Chairman of Finncham Guangdong, for finishing third. Their spirited participation made the event memorable and fun for all involved.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors and all participants who made this day a resounding success. Your support and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to more such collaborative events in the future.

FinnCham delegation visit to Shaoguan Guangdong

Inspirational visit to the city of Shaoguan, private and public development projects led by Finncham Guangdong

A delegation from Finncham China traveled to Shaoguan, a vibrant industrial city in the northern part of Guangdong Province. The 3 day visit showcased Shaoguan’s dynamic economic landscape, leaving the delegation thoroughly impressed.

Led by the Finnish Chamber of Commerce Guangdong, the group explored Shaoguan’s thriving industrial ecosystem, visiting private enterprises and government projects. Among other factory visits, the delegation received a special tour of the Metso-Outotec subsidiary factory SRHeavy, which provided valuable insights into the city’s manufacturing capabilities and technological advancements with a Finnish twist.

Highlights included visits to monumental government projects in big data and solar energy, highlighting Shaoguan’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The delegation also received a warm welcome from local government hosts, who shared insights on investment opportunities and schemes.

Some members also had an opportunity to visit a scenic excursion to the nearby Danxia Mountain, enhancing their experience. The mix of nature and business underscored Shaoguan’s allure as a premier investment destination, blending industrial capabilities with natural beauty was surprisingly similarly to the one of Finland’s. The delegation left with renewed optimism and a commitment to fostering bilateral ties and many new friends.

Appreciation was extended to local leaders and hosts for their hospitality and insights, with special gratitude to the co-organizers in Finncham Beijing and Shanghai and a special thanks Metso’s SRheavy and of course all the member participants.
